OAKLAND — Police released a picture of a vehicle and are asking for the public’s help in finding it in connection with a homicide earlier this month, authorities said Thursday.
Just before 3:30 p.m. August 14, police responded to reports of gunshots in the 10900 block of Beverly Avenue in the city’s Durant Manor neighborhood.
When Oakland and San Leandro police officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, identified as Davaun Mcneal, was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead August 15.
Investigators looking into the shooting found an image of a vehicle, identifiable only as a silver-colored van, and shared it. Anyone with information should call the department’s homicide section at 510-238-3821 or the department’s tip line at 510-238-7950.
