Also: MLS stadium project lands $107M permit

authors Staff Reports

Nashville-based development company Giarratana LLC has released a new image showing the spatial relationship between its two future Church Street towers.

The image comes as details recently were released regarding one of those skyscrapers: the mixed-use 801 Church, planned for the downtown intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Church Street. That 38-story high-rise (seen on right in the image) will house 350 residential units and two retail spaces (one each at Parks and Church and at Ninth and Church, respectively).

In addition, Giarratana LLC — led by founder Tony Giarratana — is under construction with 900 Church, a 34-story high-rise residential-only building (on left in the image) at the address from which its name derives.

Major permit issued for MLS stadium construction

Early-phase construction of the city’s Major League Soccer stadium in Wedgewood-Houston continues, as a permit valued at about $107 million has been issued related to the project.

The local office of Cincinnati-based Messer Construction Co. is handling the job of building the 30,000-seat steel-frame stadium at 501 Benton Ave., which is expected to carry a price tag of more than $300 million and should open in mid-2022. (Read more on that here.)

Nashville SC, the city's MLS franchise, is privately funding 100 percent of stadium construction costs. If operational today, the South Nashville facility would be North America's largest soccer-specific stadium.
