Jeremy Renner took some time from filming Hawkeye to engage in a little behind-the-scenes fun — dropping by the costume department to dress up as fellow Marvel hero: Thor. Created by Stan Lee and Don Heck, Hawkeye first appeared in 1964's Tales of Suspense #57. Renner actually debuted as the titular archer in 2011's Thor. Clint Barton later teamed up with The Avengers on multiple occasions, helping to defeat Loki and Ultron, and aiding Team Cap. After losing his entire family in the dark event known as The Blip (and a brief stint as Ronin) he returned to the team. Helping to retrieve the Infinity Stones, Hawkeye was instrumental in bringing back everybody that'd been lost and defeating Thanos for good in Avengers: Endgame.

Despite being reunited with his wife and children, Clint Barton's heroic endeavors were confirmed to be continuing. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanding to television, it was announced that several series would be released via Disney+. With an emphasis on supporting characters, Hawkeye joined Scarlet Witch, Vision, Bucky Barnes, and Sam Wilson in receiving his own solo series. Just like his standalone adventures in the comics, it was made clear that Hawkeye would revolve around training Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop. Together, it was confirmed that they would clash with a group known as The Tracksuit Draculas. Furthermore, set photos revealed that the show would explore Hawkeye going deaf — a plot point from the comics that fans have clamored for.

As a result, despite having his loved ones returned, Hawkeye will face no less drama and dark times. Conversely, however, Renner has clearly relished the opportunity and sought to have as much fun with it as possible. To that end, he recently dropped by the show's costume department for a humorous character switch. Donning a long blonde wig and a distinctly Viking helmet, it would appear that Thor was his early Halloween costume of choice. Renner shared a photo of the moment via an Instagram story (which was caught by the folks at ComicBook). Check it out in all its glory in the space below:

Played by Chris Hemsworth, Thor has equally been a long-serving member of The Avengers. Unlike many, Thor's journey will also continue in Phase 4 of the MCU. With Taika Waititi returning to direct (based on a script co-written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson), Thor: Love and Thunder will see the Norse god clash with Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher. The sequel has already been confirmed include such returning figures as Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, Natalie Portman's Jane Foster (aka. Mighty Thor), and Jaimie Alexander's Sif. With filming in progress in Australia, several Guardians of the Galaxy members were also spotted filming scenes on set.

Alternately, Hawkeye has been filming in New York since December 2020. The extended cast was announced to include Vera Farmiga as Kate's mother, Eleanor, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, and Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez (aka. Echo). It was also revealed that Florence Pugh would reprise her Black Widow role of Yelena Belova in the series. With Phase 4 understandably being kept under wraps, it has remained unclear whether Hawkeye and Thor will properly cross paths again. However, Thor had a hilarious reaction when Chris Evans' Captain America apparently "stole his look" in Avengers: Infinity War. As such, it would be equally amusing to see what Hemsworth (in lieu of Thor himself) would have made of the homage.
